MORA | THE SCENT OF THE SILENCE OF WINTER, REBIRTH AND THE ETERNAL CYCLE
SLAVIC MYTHS - GODS
This is the story of winter isolation, silence and inevitability. Oh, Cold Lady! Who with your coldness penetrates to the marrow, who with your dead breath envelops the world, stopping its course in an icy breath! This is the end... and with it the beginning at the same time.
But here – beneath the snowy layer, as in a muddy grave, trembles a whisper of hope. Barely audible, yet unwavering. It germinates in hiding, patiently calling for spring.
This is a mystical ritual, an echo of ancient rites, a night of transition. This is the primal solstice!
PEPPER - ANXIETY AND THE COMING SOLSTICLE
Its sharp, slightly citrusy aroma acts like a cold breeze. It emphasizes the anxiety associated with the upcoming transformation. Red pepper brings to mind drops of blood coming to life on white snow. Death, which is the beginning of a new cycle. It is also an almost imperceptible whisper of hope.
THYME HERB - OF PURIFICATION AND PROTECTION
In ancient rituals thyme was used for purification and protection.
In Mora it symbolizes mystical rituals of saying goodbye to winter. In combination with other herbs, it was used, for example, against witches. People also gathered thyme on St. John's night and cured with a decoction.
GERANIUM - A COOL TOUCH OF WINTER AIR
Geranium brings a slightly metallic, fresh scent, like the air of a frosty morning. At the same time, it subtly reminds us of blooming – what can come with the thaw. Its slightly rose-like, yet cool scent emphasizes the fragility of the border between winter and rebirth.
WATER CHORDS THE SACRED - SOURCE OF LIFE
Water, an ancient symbol of purification. It is the boundary between the world of the living and the afterlife. It is a promise of rebirth – under the snow it waits for the spring sun. It strengthens the image of sleeping floodlands, trapped under the ice, waiting for new life to blossom.
MARSH PLANT - STOPPED TIME, MAGIC MARSH PLANT, with its intense, almost hypnotic scent, evokes the image of marshes shrouded in mist. Similarly to thyme (it is also called wild thyme) used in ancient ceremonies, as well as later folk beliefs.
CYPRESS - TREE OF MOURNING AND BORDER
Cypress symbolizes death and transition. In a winter landscape it seems to be a sign of the inevitable. Its resinous note spreads an aura of seriousness and concentration, but also reminds us of the endlessly repeating cycle of life. In folk beliefs it is associated with the period of mourning.
