L'Esprit de l'Eau(水石清华) L’Esprit de L’Eau (The Spirit of Water) is embodied by a mystical water with the fragrance of incense. Created by Benoist Lapouza, it combines a mineral accord, that of clear water gliding over mountain rocks, with woody notes of cedar and cypress, as well as spicy notes of pepper and juniper berry. L’Esprit de L’Eau illustrates high perspective and purity, as its name in Chinese suggests: 宋書 or Book of Song (Dynasty) refers to the ascetic philosophy of that time, seeking from nature inspiration for a spiritual life in solitude and elevation.

Maître Tseng × Trudon

Trudon collaborates with Master Tseng to conceive a collection of three scented candles celebrating the world of tea and its five thousand years of history in China. Yu Hui Tseng comes from a very old Chinese family. She is a descendant of Confucius’ first disciple. As a tea master, she represents both tradition and modernity. Master Tseng spends most of her time in Asia working with exceptional tea producers. More than thirty years ago, she set up her first exploration trips to old tea routes situated in remote regions, to reach primary forests where precious tea leaves are harvested in extreme conditions. As vigilant as she is demanding, Master Tseng orchestrates each stage of the production of her teas. As a bearer of tradition, it is she who, in collaboration with figureheads of the gastronomy sector, brought tea into our modern era. Leading figures such as Alain Senderens or Pierre Gagnaire who became fascinated by the precision and poetry of her perceptions, worked alongside her to create food and tea pairings. In many respects, Master Tseng has revolutionized tea tasting, creating a new school both in Asia and Europe. At the heart of Paris’ Latin Quarter in the early 1990s, Master Tseng created Maison des Trois Thés. It has turned into both the largest tea cellar in the world and a sanctuary for connoisseurs and professionals. In this true library of tea, time stands still: the love for tea-related objects, ancient furniture, old ceramics, rows of plain tea boxes reminiscent of prayer wheels, as well as the calligraphy on its walls embody an age-old art of living where tea is king.
