Stora Skuggan Pine Eau de Parfum

PINE | is the eighth perfume from STORA SKUGGAN. This fragrance diverges from the brand’s conceptual myths (booming unexplained sounds, spices harvested to extinction and thumb-sucking baby gods), focusing entirely on a single note rather than a story. In perfumery, this type of fragrance is called a soliflore, a name that stems from a type of vase designed to hold a single flower.

Pines are the most abundant organisms on the planet, measured by mass. Reaching heights of up to 100 meters, they are also some of the largest living things. And some of the oldest too; Methuselah, a 4856 year old bristlecone pine in White Mountains, is the oldest known living individual plant, while the spruce Old Tjikko in Dalarna, Sweden, has a clonal root system twice that age. The first of the pine trees evolved over 300 million years ago, outdating both dinosaurs and the Pole Star.

While the concept is minimal, the fragrance is massive, designed to evoke all facets of PINE. From the fresh spruce shoot to the sweet and sacred-smelling sap. The dry, woody aroma of bark and dead needles blanketing an earthy forest floor.
